Summary: In this volume Ilham Abu Ghazaleh follows discourse analysis method in analysing titles in three selected literary texts.Titles given by the society to its members play an important role in defining th person's role in society and in evaluating, developing and highlighting this role. These titles empower as well the cultural role of persons in society.
The researcher believes that language shapes us from birth, and that we , therefore, reshape the society through language.
This paper attempts to explore how the contemporary Palestinian society deals with men and women by finding out how its intellectuals and writers deal with titles in language through which the attitude towards the achievements of both women and men in this society
