Palestine: Genocide, Colonialism, & Feminist Liberation

On 8 March 2024, Dr. Lena Meari, a faculty member at the Institute of Women's Studies, participated in an online symposium on the liberation of Palestinian women in the colonial context and in light of the genocide in Gaza.

It was part of a collaborative project initiated by two different bodies: 1) Feminists for Justice in and for Palestine (F4JP), the National Women's Studies Association (NWSA); and the Feminist Solidarity Network for Palestine and the CUNY4Palestine, and 2) AMED (Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas) Studies, and Teaching Palestine: Pedagogical Praxis and the Indivisibility of Justice Open Classroom series. Joined by several partners that included: the Right to Education Campaign at Birzeit University, Al-Awda- the Palestinian Right to Return Coalition; and the Palestine, Arab and Muslim (PAM) Caucus, California Faculty Association (CFA).
