March 10, 2016

The Institute of Women's Studies at Birzeit University, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), organized a workshop in the institute to launch and discuss  the results of a gender audit study on Birzeit University as a pilot case. The study explored the gender gaps and highlighted different patterns and forms of marginalization of women in Birzeit and the way  to bridge them.

The study concluded that there is a need to develop mechanisms and policies to shrink the gap between the sexes in the workplace, and the development of regulations and laws gender-sensitive, as well as providing services and programs and awareness seminars to familiarize students and staff to the concept of gender and its requirements.
